While on approach to landing the pilot decided to land in a field adjacent to the landing field because of the close proximity of other landing pilots. Summary
Pilot, experienced in mini wings, was flying an acro wing for the first time at local dunes. After a period of familiarisation he began to make more aggressive turns. During one turn the pilot applied an excessive amount of control causing the wing to collapse. The wing recovered but had lost significant height and the pilot landed heavily.
